An Australian-first, mobile cardiac and respiratory specialist program for rural and remote Queensland will be unveiled in Toowoomba this Friday (Oct 3).
Heart of Australia, delivered in partnership with Arrow Energy, is one of the most innovative approaches to rural health service delivery in generations – using a state-of-the-art semi-trailer to transport specialist care.
The Heart of Australia program involves a custom-designed, 25-metre, $1.5 million semi-trailer, outfitted with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and telemedicine capabilities. It will tour rural and remote towns in southwest Queensland, with a team of specialists, starting this weekend.
