Mobile clinics designed and built for outback Australia
Heart of Australia brings specialist services to rural, remote, and Indigenous communities through our five custom-designed, clinics-on-wheels – the Heart Trucks.
The purpose-built, self-sufficient trailers provide several private clinic rooms, a testing room, and a reception area for patients. All of the Heart Trucks have a toilet onboard, are wheelchair accessible, and are fully-air-conditioned for comfort.

HEART 5
HEART 5 is the most innovative Heart Truck in the fleet, home to the world’s first mobile, battery-powered CT scanner. Through the support of Resource Safety and Health Queensland, HEART 5 was built to deliver comprehensive lung health services and programs to former resource workers and current mining communities. It’s also capable of delivering all general CT radiology services in communities.
HEART 5 is pulled by a DAF XF 530 Prime Mover.

Lung Function: EasyOne Pro Lab capable of pre and post spirometry, bronchial provocation, diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide (DLCO), and total Lung Volumes testing.
Audiometry: Electronica Audiometer 800M with a custom soundproof booth compliant to AS/NZS 1269 standards.
HEART 1
The first 18-wheel semi-trailer mobile clinic for Heart of Australia that Dr Gomes personally-designed was launched in 2014 after six years of planning and construction. The clinic is pulled by a Kenworth K200 Prime Mover.

HEART 2
HEART 2 was launched in 2018 and evolved the Heart Truck design into what it is today with the addition of two trailers instead of one. The clinic is pulled by a Kenworth K200 Prime Mover.

HEART 3
HEART 3 is our smallest clinic built as an Isuzu F-Series FSD260 truck. HEART 3 is set up to be able to do anything that HEART 1, HEART 2 and HEART 4 can do, with the added bonus of being specialised for our new Gynaecological services. The new mini mobile clinic was created using an innovative design to condense consulting rooms and state-of-the-art equipment into a 12-metre long mobile clinic. HEART 3’s purpose is to be our Community, Events and overflow Clinic, assisting the other 2 trucks when needed but also attending other Communities and Events throughout QLD.

The Heart Trucks are designed and built locally here in Queensland. Towed by Kenworth, DAF and Isuzu Trucks, our trailers are manufactured in North Brisbane by Varley.
