GP Education Program
Heart of Australia is committed to aiding the professional development of our rural and remote GPs, nurses and pharmacists without leaving their community.
The GP Education program is a series of educational sessions delivered by our team of visiting specialists and covers a broad range of topics across their area of expertise.
As of 2023, Heart of Australia is an accredited CPD Provider through RACGP.
Thank you to Bayer Australia Ltd who has supported the Heart of Australia GP Education Program through the provision of an educational grant.

The Heart of Australia GP Education Program has wrapped for 2023. Our education sessions will resume in 2024. Keep an eye out for sessions being added early next year.

Specialised Education Programs
Structural Heart Program
The Structural Heart Program is a free series of four sessions (held live and via webinar) discussing new therapies in structural heart disease that are now becoming commonplace.
These therapies include:
- TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) for treatment of aortic stenosis
- MitraClip™ for the treatment of mitral regurgitation
- LAA Occlusion (Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion) for stroke prevention
The first session of this series was presented in June at the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland Conference 2022.
